The Friends of Kansas Libraries has been selected by Mountain Plains Library Association as the winner of the Carl Gaumer Library Champion Award for 2014. This award will be presented at the joint meeting of MPLA and the Arizona Library Association on November 14 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The award is named for a long-time library friend and businessman, Carl Gaumer of Denver, Colorado. According to the MPLA website, this award recognizes positive support of libraries in the MPLA region as “demonstrated by repeated constant conscientious endeavors towards libraries, library staff, trustees, or professional activities.” The announcement of this award was received with smiles and cheers among the members of the FoKL Board.  We are truly honored to have been nominated as “Library Champions!”
