The  Spring 2018 issue of FoKL Point is here!  Read about projects other Friends groups are doing including the winners of last year’s Challenge Grants. Be inspired and apply for a 2018 Challenge Grant by April 1st.  Remember to nominate your Friends group or an individual Friend for a Outstanding Individual or Group Award.  See our Awards and Grants page for further information. Deadline to apply is April 1st.

FoKL Point Highlights from KLA Conference

What a great conference experience for all who were able to attend KLA/KASL Conference in Wichita!  The sessions, the speakers and informal conversations were brought together by the planners and volunteer members of the associations involved.  FoKL thanks everyone who took part. Coming soon — the Kansas Library Association conference!  Read the current issue of FoKL Point and you’ll know why you should register now!

Don’t miss the 4:20 p.m. session on Wednesday at KLA.  The Library Leadership Group’s message of community spirit will inspire you.  This group of teens formed five years ago and is more active than ever, supporting their community and their library. Hamilton County Librarian, Amy Brucker will share what this group has taught her about mentoring a teenage Friends group.  And, you can meet some of these outstanding, energetic, civic-minded teens!

Apply for one of these programs and win support for your library.

The Fall 2015 issue of FoKL Point is ready to read.  This issue has both an online version and a printer-friendly version.

The joint conference between Kansas Library Association and Missouri Library Association was a success.  Read about the events hosted by Friends of Kansas Libraries during the conference.  If you couldn’t attend this year, make plans to be at the 2016 conference in Wichita, October 18-21.

Don’t forget! Now is the time to join FoKL.  We count on your support so we can share generously with Friends groups through our grant and awards programs.  Don’t delay — renew your membership today!

Summer 2015 FoKL Point Newsletter

The Summer 2015 issue of FoKL Point is ready to read.  This issue has both an online version and a printer-friendly one.

Have you made your plans to attend this year’s Kansas Library Association conference?  It will be held in conjunction with the Missouri Library Association at the Kansas City Convention Center.  Be sure to attend September 30 through October 2 to meet your friends, share ideas, and learn what other libraries have found successful. Register by August 18 for the “early bird” rate; regular rates through September 28.

Friends/Trustees events are scheduled for Wednesday, September 30.  The day begins with a 11:30 lunch featuring Gayle Harper, 2014 winner of Forward Reviews’ Nonfiction INDIEFAB award for “Roadtrip with a Raindrop.”  Gayle will also host a 2:00 pm session that will inspire your creative spirit.  Join us for an excellent day at KLA!
